Hospital Stay
Upon admission, patients receive:
- A small patient handbook with practical information regarding your hospitalization and useful telephone numbers.
- A feedback form – let us know how you feel about our medical care and nursing services, food and facilities.
- A letter outlining the patients’ rights.
It is always useful to bring any medical records you may have.
Healthcare Team
The “attending physician” is the main contact for you, your family and your family doctor. Registered nurses oversee a team of nurses and patient care assistants. For any problems regarding daily organization your contact is the “Caposala" (Dept. organization head) and the nursing staff for your healthcare assistance requirements. Team members are identified by the badges worn at all times .
Rooms
All rooms are bright and comfortable, with a maximum of two beds, all equipped with bathroom and shower; in the surgical departments of the Castellanza (Va) Hospital facility, some rooms have 3 beds and include bathrooms without shower. The rooms include a spacious locker and safe for each patient; we recommend you safely store your valuables as the hospital rejects any responsibility. .
Television
A television with remote control is available in every room, and in the Sesto San Giovanni facility the tv is connected to a closed-circuit tv system that is activated by the patient through the buzzer, enabling a direct video connection with the head nurse’s station.
Telephone
Telephones are available in every room: following a patient’s request they are activated for local and long-distance calls. Dial “0” to call any external number and a direct extension number is provided to receive external calls. Charges will be added to the patient’s bill (Telecom Italia fees). Rooms in the Castellanza Hospital Facility have phones that are enabled only for incoming calls. This phone service is free of charge
Meals
Taking into account the limitations imposed by patient’s health status and established diet criteria, our nutritionists offer our patients a rich and varied daily menu. Kosher meals are available at the IRCCS facility of Sesto S. Giovanni (Mi), requiring a one day advance notice.
