| You should go to the Emergency Room when: |
- a person’s clinical condition is life threatening.
- there are severe health risks if a person does not quickly receive specific medical treatment.
DO NOT go to the Emergency Room:: |
- to bypass waiting lists for non urgent specialized examinations
- for a medical prescription

| What you should bring |
| Documents required by the Emergency Department: |
- Healthcare Card – Personal Identification
- Family Physician’s admission referral, if available
- Personal medical records: discharge documents, previous medical records if available, Emergency Room discharge papers, tests and diagnostic reports performed (blood test, x-rays, visit reports,…)
- Current medication and therapies (bring the boxes/bottles of medication you are taking)
- In case of poisoning, always bring a sample of the ingested substance

| Ticket |
| All emergency room procedures performed in the event of emergency or urgency (see legislative decree) are completely free of charge. In any other case, assistance will still be provided but is subject to the ticket charge. |
