Ophthalmoplastic Surgery is the part of ophthalmology that deals with plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery of the eyelids and the areas of the face immediately adjacent, tearway surgery, orbit surgery and finally the surgery of the aophthalmic cavity.
An important part of ophthalmoplastic surgery concerns cosmetic surgery of the upper third of the face and includes operations such as blepharoplasty, correction of the ptosis of the eyebrow that allow to correct defects such as drooping eyelids and bags of fat. The main surgical operations performed after evaluation at the ophthalmoplasty clinic are:
- eyelid rash removal
- correction of palpebral ptosis
- entropion and/or ectropion correction
- superior and inferior blepharoplasty
- endoscopic dacryocistorinostomy with the support of colleagues from otorhinolaryngology
